The BioRobotics Institute of Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna aims to understand life principles, assist human beings, and educate the society. The institute believes in the value of robotics competitions in pushing technology and promoting the importance of learning about BioRobotics.
The BioRobotics Team will participate in Challenge 1. The team started their preparation for the challenge on May 2018 and they have been working really a hard to set up all the hardware and software in time with the challenge deadlines. All of the systems have been properly designed and developed for the challenge. The team has collaborated with expert drone pilots to test novel solutions and assure safety during the competition.
The MBZIRC challenge is an opportunity for the team and the institute to start a new robotic research line in the field of autonomous flying systems for outdoor environments.
The team is composed of aerospace, mechanical, electric, and automation engineers, as well as computer scientists with a deep knowledge in the field of mechanical design, control systems design, and systems integration. All of them are from the BioRobotics Institute of Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna. A few students from Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna also helped during the system development stage, and some of them will be part of the team who will be in Abu Dhabi. MBZIRC 2020 will be an important educational experience for these students.
