Team IIT Kanpur is engaged in the development of autonomous robots using AI techniques. The team’s research interests include machine learning, computer vision, artificial intelligence, control systems and robotics systems, such as manipulators, mobile robots, and quad-rotors.
The robotic systems Team IIT Kanpur develop have applications in warehouse automation, drone based driver assistance systems, drone based pipeline inspection, and health care. They have developed multiple heterogeneous robotic solutions, such as land rover, manipulators and drones performing cooperative tasks together. Their lab is well equipped with robotic platforms, including robotic manipulators (UR5, UR10 robots from Universal Robotics, Barrett WAM along with Barrett hands, 7DOF and Schunk manipulators); robust mobile platforms (GUARDIAN, SUMMIT-X from Robotnik); and quadrotors (Pelican, Hummingbird, DJI Matrice-100 and DJI Matrice 600 Pro).
